these guys are sometimes listed as jungle perch, but not sure how accurate that is.
i've been putting togeter a thailand native tank, and i got a pair of these to throw in. they get pretty big. i've cuaght several of these in the 3lbs range while hunting for micropeltes.

these guys are not quite 3" yet.

anyone else keep these? they get spooked very easy.

those are cool....

Member ML had a couple before he sold them away. He said it was aggressive and not shy at all during feeding time.

I forgot, but I think I had about 8 or 9 of them.

They have that typical "barb behavior" where they just crash everywhere, but that generally fades as the fish gets bigger.

They're just awesome during feeding time though, they even attacked my fingers once mistaking them for food!

Not a barb guy. I actually hate tinfoil barbs now. They eat too much ! :swear:

Yes I am starting to loathe my yellow fin barbs or whatever it is that I have. The Hampala Barbs look bad ass I wish I had picked up some when a fish store had them 2 for 1...

just got one at about 7 inches, pretty cool, might need to get a pond soon
