first thing to remember is that they normally feed at night, so try waiting until lights are off or right before u turn the lights off. you just have to take ur time with it. i had one a while back and it took awhile for him to accept food from my hand. i started off by just holding the food in front of him for a couple minutes and then just dropped it there and let him eat it when he wanted. this will get him used to your hand bringing him food and not a risk to him. after a few days i started to wiggle the food a little while it was in front of him and he would take it. eventually they will become comfortable with your hand and will have no problem taking food from it.
