Hand feeding my Oscars

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hehe...
Yeah.. about 10 years ago I lost 2 texas cichlids like that...real shame aswell as they were beauts!...
first time it happened when i was in the room and one literally flew out the tank during a fisght, hit the wall and was flapping on the floor... (he lived that day) but eventually same thing happened again one night... flimsy plastic hood and no cover glass and both were dried up on the floor in the morning!

My oscars seem alright now and really quite gentle...
I know a lot of people are really against putting hands in tanks and possibly touching fishes... (i keep my arms really clean and thoroughly rinse with water before i ever put my hands in... never soaps or creams) but mine are actually very respectfull of my hands... they know it means food, but they still scared of it enough to not bite it...

Perhaps a i should slap em around a bit every now and then to make sure :P
(kidding!) hehe

My Oscars are gentle as well so far I can support you...

(now it´s coming the big...)

BUT :D

..only as far as they are not expecting feed!

They snap...and when they reached their full size I hope not to be snapped anymore ;)

Great fishes causing great fun and they are so trainable :)

Unfortunately the video was taken on my GF's mobile phone... so the quality is a bit crap.

I do have a pretty good webcam that I can put on my laptop and try filming them sometime with that :)

nice oscars ;)
