I've been watching on youtube people hand playing with their ghost knife fish and I'm thinking about getting one soon cuz it would really accent my tank. Currently I have a senegal bichir though and was wondering, how should I go about hand feeding him? Should I just straight up take a piece of beef heart and hold it there until he gets interested or what? What do you all do to hand feed your fish?

To tell you the truth...most of the fish that I was able to hand feed came natural to them. But I believe there is a way of training them. I think you could start off with using some forceps and just place the food on it. Don't move the forceps. Then when it gets used to it, start waving the food in front of it with the forceps. Eventually, swicth to using your hands.

I hand feed a lot of my fish, it means they trust me and that they know Im not there to hurt them, i've noticed since getting them to handfeed they are not skitttish at all about me or other people being near their tanks, they dont seem to mind at all and will come out and show their colors.
