Does anyone hand feed their cats?
My RTC absolutely loves his fortress I made for him and won't come out to get the food during the day so I decided to just put it right infront of his face. He has no problem at all taking it right out of my hand. I can actually play tug-o-war with him with feeders!
Does anybody else do this? I think I'm gonna take some video of the action:naughty:

My syno Multi's will swim to the top of the water and take food out of my fingers on the surface, but i've never tried under the water. I should give that a shot.

Yeah lets see a video!!!

Most if not all RTC's outgrow this behavior by 8-12". When small they like to hide a lot and dont wander around much when the lights are on. One of my little 10" guys will come up to the top of the tank when you walk into the room, and will grab your fingers instantly thinking their food. Needless to say he eats quite eagerly from my hand and can even get his body out of the water about 2" when he's real hungry :D

How cool is that man, I can't wait for my little rtc to be big:ROFL:

my rtc x tsn hybrid eats exclusively from my hands, on the top, under the water, or even abiove the water. He's insatiable. Eats currently about 4 lbs. of pompano and jumbo shrimp per week. He's around 32"

My rtc comes up to the top of the tank and will hover at the top until he is done feeding. I always feed mine by hand. He's about 22- 23" now. in a 240 and I am currently saving for a 600.

They may bite you, but you have to take several things into consideration. First they don't have long sharp teeth like other fish, or even villiform teeth like north american catfish and bass. They have maxillary plates. These are rough and feel like sand paper. The most I have ever got from my rtc x tsn hybrid which is 32" long is scrapes on my knuckles, and he can bite hella hard. So no, unless you have a massive fish or some kind of bone or skin disorder that makes you extremely fragile you won't get hurt, unless you get impaled by the dorsal, or pectorial spines! Hope that clears things up :)
