I want to chart my pbass growth. I thought of taking them out and measuring them individually. Will this unnecessarily stress them?

Im no expert by any means, but I think so. About how big are they now? I have some native bass and they are about 7+" or so. They stay still long enough to get an aproximate measurement while still in the water or hang out at the filter inlet which is about 6" wide and I can estimate by that

They range from about 7-9 inches (gross estimate).

do they hang out in a certain place close to the front glass long enough to maybe put some non permanent markings on the glass where they tend to hang out? I had to handle one of mine once to scrape something off its tail and amazingly it sat still like a good patient LOL, but its a guadalupe bass, not a pbass. Otherwise netting them during tank upgrades and what not is all the handling I do

They dont sit still for long especially when I'm near the tank. I only handle them through necessity and will probably keep it like that way and make gross estimations.

For fish this size and larger you can use a fish sling like they do for aquaculture, they come in various sizes and are easy to make, this pick is of one designed for carp and is near a meter long.
