Isla Taboga Panama via Milwaukee
The rainy season here in Panama allows for free, effort free water changes, a welcome break because during the dry season water can scarce.
I keep my sump out in the yard, and direct water with split bamboo lengths anywhere rain streams more than a dribble.
The sump water surface normally runs about 2 or 3 inches below the rim.

By around 2 pm today, it was overflowing with rain water, and has been throughout the week .

My sump normally drains about 50 gallons per day onto the garden, and yard, that I normally have to make up with a combination of municipal water, and rain stored in a barrel.
