Hi everyone. I just purchaced a 75 gal. tank with a magnium 350 canister filter for $10. I got a hell of a deal. Every tank I have has a corner overflow and I use wet/drys for filtration. I have no experiance with canister filters. So I am thinking of switching to a wet/dry wich I already have. But I cant figuire out how to get the siphon going on this type of overflow. It has the j-tube going from one container to the other on the outside with the j-tube going between them. How do you get these to work. The lady at the pet-store said to put an air line threw the j-tube and suck on it to start the siphen. But the air lines are so small I cant see how this would work? Can anyone help???? Also does anyone know how well the magnium 350 canister filter works? If the canister filter works great I might just use it. But I really like wet/drys, and I have a few extra ones lying around.

the air line is used to suck the air out of the J tube, just make sure both ends of the J tube are underwater. The magnum is a good filter for mechanical filtration, and you could fill the media basket with bio max for biofiltration.
