ok so I got a new tank cycling for the office. Its a ~50-60 gal, dunno exactly cuz it's a bowfront, but anyways I saw Haplochromis latifasciatus in the fish store today, so i'm thinking of making a tank with Haplochromis latifasciatus and L. caeruleus. I'm planning on getting juvie groups of 6 each. Planing on getting breeding groups.

So what does everyone think of this plan? Anyone see any problems with the combo?

I'm also wondering will it be ok to add a single H. lifalili, just to add some more color to the tank?

Any inputs and sugesstions r appreciated

I think it could work, I have a buddy who breeds both in the same tank and no problems, just be sure to provide plenty of rocks and plants. A single hemichromis lifalili should be fine as well

ok thnx guys, the reason I'm getting only one lifalili is cuz I heard once they breed they kill everything else in the tank. I'm also pretty sure that with this combo I'll have no hibridazation issues, cuz I wanna keep the offspring pure.

Thats true, a pair of lifalili's would be a disaster in the making and you shouldn't have to worry about any hybridization

Yea I saw ur video, nice looking male. The ones that r at the LFS r still juvies so not much color on them, but it's starting to show on some. Still not 100% sold on the idea, but like u said they are SAWWEEEET :D I have a week or 2 to decide on the stock till the tank cycles, so we'll see
