HAPLOCHROMIS TAIWAN REEF

I was thinking of picking up some taiwan reef. my lfs has some that i think they got from tropical fish dist. has anyone ever got any from their? were you happy with quality?

hap. taiwan reef is quite a generalisation, could you be more specific?

lfs has them as just tawian reef but i believe it is Steveni Taiwan (taiwan reef)

The thing is, there are dozens and dozens of species of Haps living off the Taiwan Reef

I have gotten fish from them. Mine were peacocks and I was very happy with their fish.

I actually bought what I thought were supposed to be Protomelas sp."Taiwan Reef" from TFD and they were not the right fish. After growing out 10 for three months, they looked more like red empress. Not knowing exactly what the surviving four fish actually were, I culled them.

Maybe it was a one-time screwup, but I will certainly never order from them ever again. You get what you pay for and haps for $2.00-$2.50 should have raised a red flag. Fool me once...
