Happy gar?

Hi all! I rescued that gar (previous post), and I fell hard and fast. So I named him. He’s definitely staying. Sarah Pickle Lemon is going to have to learn to play nice, and so is he. His name is Alex Onion Peach. (Get it? To match Sarah? I have ISSUES. I know) but anyway. I gave homeboy some guppies. Not good enough. So I got him 20 feeder goldfish. He ate literally 18 in one sitting. And the whole time I was sitting next to his tank, hand feeding him, he was looking at me with love (would definitely have been smiling if he could) and he was flapping his little pectoral fins all happily and cute.


My question. Do Gar flap their pectoral fins when they’re happy or was it just a coincidence? If it’s the latter, please lie to me and say it’s because he was happy. But also disclaim that it’s a lie.

The goldfish and order some mollies and tilapia strips, sounds mr. Onion gar is enjoying himself
