I need to find a way to change my nickname here seeing as how I lost the love for this Kribensis cichlid. It was just a long and old time fav of mine when I was younger and could not have a large tank I guess. But now me, my wife and daughter all share 2 125 gallon tanks and 1 90 gallon tank and soon to build a 300+ gallon plywood aquarium with the help of other experienced fish lovers out there. My friend MTBjake told me about your site. And wow... All the time wasted without it. I have so much to learn and catch up on. Its good to know there are so many other fish/aquarium lovers out there.

I have been out of the fish trade ever since I was maybe 20 and now that im Married and we have a 4 year old daughter and moved to Arizona from CA. My wife one day said to go ahead and buy a used aquarium. And then she liked fish. So then she wanted her own so I got her a 90g Acrylic. THen she did not like mean fish and after her making a couple fish selection mistakes. She loves her Angle fish. She now has a 90g aquarium with only 3 angle fish in it and she dont want nothing ells. Then I had to search all over Arizona for my childhood favorite dwarf cichlid. And planted 6 Kribensis into my 125 Gallon aquarium. But I had found a great deal on a nother 125g so I got it also. But had to place it in the back room. It has 2 canister filters but was not used for some time. And after seeing a add for baby Convicts. Well from there my entire focus and love was on the 3 barred convict baby's and the 3 pink convict babys. Then with us and our limited fish store options ware we live. I found two Jack Dempseys that were close to the same size as the convicts I have had for several weeks. THen I saw a add for some baby Salvaini Cichlids. So I got 4 of them "fingerlings" as the guy called them. And now there is a add for some F1 Red Terror fry. And I think I will get 2 or 3 of them. So now in the 125 gallon aquarium in the back guest room I currentley have 12 very young fish in it. And every time my or anyone goes back to that room the fish greet us with hungry eyes. And even if they were resting or hiding. Stand there for a minute and they all get word of someone in the room. Kribs are great fish. Easy to breed and easy to care for. They dont care too much for other fish with long fins. But anyone with a community tanke should have one or 2 of them for some nice color content. But for me and my wife... Ok, well for me mostly. I got tired of having a nice looking glass tub of decorations and never seeing the Kribs. So now I have to find them a new home, so I can move all the (soon to be bigger) other cichlids to my living room aquarium and then set the back room aquarium better. Seeing as how it only has less then a inch of medium I guess... Gravel. and a bunch of flowerpots I tossed in for the little guys to have some security and a little bit of moss.

It feels good to know that MFK is such a large and busy forum. I have posted so many questions on other places and it would take a week before someone would reply with a 1-2 word reply. So being fairly new to Cichlids. Please forgive me now if I ask any "NewBee" questions. My wife and I tend to treat all animals like family... And I mean the good Family members. Not like the Evil Mother and father inlaws. ;):)

I guess thats all about me/us I think. ummm AZ is hot in summer and not too many ppl use heaters in there tanks. Winters are like no lower then 33 at night. hmmmm I can find all the rocks in the world to decorate my tanks. But for the life of me I cant fins not even a toothpick in AZ to use in my fishtanks. Unless I want to spend $50 for a twig at some LPS across town. But AZ tap water almost comes out perfect for most cichlids. we go through about 1.3 gallons of water a day by evaporation and none of our used craigslist aquariums have there full glass lid. I know I need to fix it. Other then that I guess thats my introduction. LOL I do tend to be long winded.

I Hope everyone has a better New Year then the last was for everyone.
