Happy Pi Day to all fellow Pi nerds.
The 14th of March, 3.14 in the US month/day date format, is the day to celebrate everyone's favourite constant, Pi the irrational number defined by the circumference of a circle divided by its diameter. This year is even more special because, for a brief moment in the morning, the date and time represented the first 10 digits of Pi: 3/14/15 9:26:53.
Pi Day has a worldwide following, marked by making (and eating) pies, reading "piems" and reciting the famous constant to as many places as possible.
I noticed the following contest in my New Scientist updates:
The Raspberry Pi Foundation are giving 50 lucky New Scientist readers one of its new, super-fast Raspberry Pi 2 computers, complete with SD card.
