Haps or mbuna?

So I know a lot of haps get big, but of you had a 55 gallon, would you do haps or mbunas? What haps could be kept in a 55?

I would go mbuna and did! Mbuna just work better in a 55 and there cool for a tank that size because its reccomened to over stock! As long as you over filter and keep up on water changes. Haps just grow to big to keep in a 55 for life imo.

Dwarf mbuna would be a great idea in a 55g.

55? Yellow labs and rusty + a group of synodontus petricola

Or a couple of trios of smaller, more peaceful peacocks

Id stay away from peacocks yellow labs and rustys are cool that's what I have in my 55 not sure on the petricola but sounds like it should work fine.

They are schooling dwarf catfish no more than 3 inches long.

you could do peacocks but it would have to be an all male or species tank to prevent inbreeding and spread the aggression, in a 55 mbuna offer more colour and options then haps

The Haps would outgrow your tank. I have a livingstonii that is about 1 yr. about time to move her into something larger. My Mbuna max out at 4-5" so not a problem.
