Well, learned a hard lesson with my mated angels. First spawning and left the eggs with parents to raise. Big mistake. It was entertaining to watch, but only 13 of the fry survived. Would have lost more had I not moved them to a tank set up for fry. I have now gutted the 40 gallon for the mated pair. Nothing in there but 2 terra cotta pots and a spawning slate. Will remove the eggs to a hatchery after the next spawn and see if I can salvage more. Not quite gone monster yet, but in 6 months have gone from a 10 gallon community tank to:

43 gallon spawning tank
3 10 gallon fry tanks
55 gallon grow out tank
(2) 1 gallon hatching jars
10 gallon community tank (my sons)
and finally a 20 gallon brackish tank for my green spotted puffer
