hey everybody. got a hex tank that i want to plumb for an fx6. want to drill the in and outputs dead center of the tank with maybe another pipe for wires and stuff all the way to the top. just looking for advice and/or pics of setups where youve plumbed cans into the tank.

my biggest issue is how to connect the ins and outs to the can. do you just use pvc ball valves and pvc directly to the fx6 or maybe just clamp the normal fx6 hoses onto the pipes?

1” vinyl hose hooked onto the FX5/6 knuckle pretty easy via a hose barb. A 1” threaded bulkhead fitting should be super easy to install, add a hose barb threaded elbow and plumb the FX to that. Easy peezy

got it. youre referring to the hoses that come with the fx6 right? or did you pick up something similar at the hardware store?

The hoses connect to the FX6 head via two connecting pieces with a ball valve. Those are quick disconnects and you want to keep those with the setup. 1” ID vinyl hose from a hardware store fits directly on the quick disconnect without any of the original hoses being used or cut. Nice for if you resell the FX later too

i see. this was my first inclination cause i definitely wanted those valves to stay on. thanks for the info now i just have to figure out where to put the holes.

Shouldn’t be too bad at all. Make sure you make both in and out holes even in height. Those pumps are design to operate with equal head height for in/out lines.

that is good to know because i was not going to do that lol. i wanted to put the drain close to the surface and returns down low...
