looking at buying an acrylic 180. current setup is just cannisters and a UGF. is it very difficult to "glue" in overflow boxes? anyone recommend a good retailer to buy them from? i'm fine with drilling into the acrylic.

Making the boxes is the way to go. I am not sure if they can be purchased without going to an acrylic tank manufacturer. If you can handle gluing in the boxes, there is no reason you can't cut out the parts and glue them together to make the box.

i'd do the diy bulkheads but i like for everything to look as "simple" as possible. pvc bulkheads or aftermarket filter boxes aren't that "clean" looking. plus i like having the corner overflows because i can run my wires from the lights down thru the overflows to the stand.

Quartering a section of pvc pipe, cutting the slots on the top edge and glueing them into the corners of the tank is a simple operation. You can always cover them with any variaty of materials to make them blend into the background.

thanks for all of the ideas.
