I picked up this tank used an it had some nasty hard water stains I have used several cleaning products on it including white distilled vinigar an regular vinigar (looks kinda brown) an nothing has worked, does anyone have any suggestions?

A razorblade and patience. :D

PH down. Works every time.

The acid in it eats it away like it's nobodies business.

That makes so much sense. I feel stupid for never using that.

On glass tanks, a razor blade in conjunction with the pH down really cuts down on cleaning time. pH down is neutralized quickly from lime buildup. The more you can remove with the blade before wiping on pH down, the better.

so I put ph down on the tank like make a paste?
The water stains are on the out side I'm pretty sure

I have used the following so far with 0 Results!

Razorblade
Goof Off
Goo Gone
Lysol toilet bowl cleaner
Lysol bathroom clean
All purpose Clorox(green)
Spic an Span
White Vinigar
Brownish Vinigar

Have not used CLR or the PH Down yet

bump, is ph down a paste or liquid?

The works toilet bowl cleaner. but not sure if u could then neutrilize it all then to make it fish safe. but it would DESTROY all stains. unbelievalbe product. just dont let it touch alluminum foil
