The history of bamboo shrimp
Bamboo Shrimp is native to southern Asia, where it is valued as a food source. From South Asia to have found their way into the aquarium in America. When first introduced it was difficult to obtain, but not many local shops and aquarium fish retailers to carry this big box of shrimp.
Bamboo Shrimp Care
Bamboo Shrimp are quite unique in the home aquarium. They are filter feeders and therefore requires a constant current in your aquarium. Bamboo Shrimp are very demanding and very adaptable to most of the parameters of water aquarium at home, but prefer water that is in the more neutral to slightly basic (higher pH).
The diet of bamboo shrimp
Bamboo shrimp are filter feeders and therefore require a specialized power supply. A small number of bamboo shrimp can be kept in well-established aquarium of 55 gallons or more, without additional supplementary feeding. If you need to complement the bamboo shrimp feeds algae powder and food for filter-feeding invertebrates are suggested.
Bamboo shrimp
Bamboo Shrimp rarely been successfully bred in captivity. They are the lower-order shrimp (born as larvae and miniature versions of adults), and require salt water for the larvae grow. There is very little information on the breeding of this shrimp and very few have been successful.
The behavior of bamboo shrimp
A bamboo shrimp is happy and healthy in a high flow aquarium filtering food out of water. They will stay in the same position for hours. If bamboo shrimp is threatened or has been moved only find adequate space to hide. If bamboo shrimp from observations on the substrate that is a sign that the shrimp are not getting enough food. This is stressful for bamboo shrimp and should be avoided.
Special Notes
As with all invertebrates, it is important to ensure that copper is not in the aquarium. Copper is toxic to shrimp midgets. Many medications contain elevated levels of copper, which is recommended not to medicate an aquarium with Dwarf Shrimp in Shrimp Bamboo it.Most store-bought fish are dying of hunger when I first took home. That will be collected in the gravel for food. This is normal and should disappear if there is an adequate supply of food.
