harder to keep Potamotrygon reticulatus?

Why is it harder to keep Potamotrygon reticulatus ?? Are they more sensitiv of the water condition or is it the food? I got a 380g tank now with asian aros and want to have one or two rays in there to. Im running 2xFX5 and 2X104 on my tank i do like 15-20% WC once or twice a week..
Tank is 100"x30"

Im thikning of getting 2 motoro but ive notice that there is diff kinds of like reticulatus motoros and so on. Diffrent pattern/colour on them..

But ive got problems finding nice motoros these days and leopolys is imposible.. Ive been reading about how to keep rays and it looks like WC is the key to a healty ray. Ill prob put a few more plants in my tank that could help breaking down all nitrate, amonia and ****..

But do u guys think i should ship the reticulatus and just concentrate on motoro or what? The price is twice as mush for a motoro here compared to reticulatus.
 
i'm no pro at ray keeping, but i think it's the converting of food that i found out with my retic.
 
I was thinking of starting with like red larvee or so. Ive seen other ppl use that and its good cuse it sink and my aros wont mess with it. But is it just the food?? So they basicly starv to death?? What would u get?? I got 3xRTG 1xSR 1XSilver and 3silver dollars atm.. The problem with like leopolys is that they are not free u know if u find them and i realy dont want to loose it cuse i messed up. WC is not problem for me since my water is free =) But i never keept a ray before and want to start with sumting that a ray noob can handle..
 
Bloodworms are the best way to go with rectis (for us who cant get live blackworms).

They normaly start eating after 2-4 days. They are just as easy to keep as a motoros. If you just treat them right. ;)

A rectis cost 300-350 kr here (my price).
 
I know they are almost free. Here its like 500-600 but i realy want a nicer one but im scared ill kill him. So i was thinking of just getting one and try.. I got space more more then 1 so its ok. Its just my bioload i need to be watch out. But im getting more filters after new year when my aros getting sum size
 
im sure anders can send you a real healthy one.... ;) :) retics bad rap comes from they are cheap so most wholesalers and stores dont take good care of them....
 
Yeah im waiting for his stock/price list.. I know a store half way down to andersp90 and he got some dark/marble motoros. And others to.. Will be mint with rays along with my RTG and SR com =)
Only problem is u want all the exp and cant afford to by all at the same time. That pisses me off.
