So I had my nile monitor out in the sun in my old birdcage and he's fine, just basking etc. Then somehow (I have absolutly no idea how) he got out and made a break for it though the neighbours garden.
I had to jump 3 fances and run through 4 gardens trying to grab him untill he ended up under someones hut. So i had to use a big stick to prod him out ad managed to grab him....eventfull day! haha He's all fine, just a bit dirty.

Anyone got any other similar stories?

Enjoy lol

My uncle walked his tegu on a leash. It ran away one day and the neighbor hit it to death with a shovel :(

OUCH. DANG! RIP INNOCENT TEGU!

I had a savanna escape and show up 6 months later totally fine. That was my first and only escape and it was while I was cleaning his cage and he was in a temporary enclosure.

Also, on a rescue call I had to remove two BIG softshells from a pool. they are not easy to pick up though! that was fun. and finally at a show I went to there was an escaped sufan cobra in a hotel room where one of the vendors was staying. we found it about 5 hours later in the middle of the night crawling out from behind the dresser.

First NO LEASHES. Leashes are for REALLY calm chilled out lizards and even then....coff coff. For a lizard that is naturally a litle psyco such as a nile forget it. If he doesant scape or go death roll on the leash and it endups breaking its spine or choking, you will probably scare your lizard so much that he will hate you with passion. If your to put huim outside you need for now a small bird cage and later a dog cannel, thats the proper way to put lizards to cath sun and he needs shadow, water and shelter available at all times!
