Hello! I am a big fan of hybrids, flowerhorns, parrots etc. I would get a flowerhorn if i could but the problem is we go on vacation a lot, and r gone for the summer. My friend knows how to do waterchanges and would be able to feed him everyother day. Would this be ok? Or would a parrot be hardier

Hello; I do not rely on other people to feed my pets. But if so, I would get an automatic Fish feeder, but it depends what u r feeding. I say test the friend before twice before letting him do it unsupervised. Good luck!

Also this. I didn’t want to crush your plans but personally and I think most would agree, I wouldn’t keep fish if I was gone for a summer and + many vacations and it was in the hands of someone else.

I use F14 feeder, it's much better for precise feeding. I would go with flowerhorn if you like them more as hardiness difference varies and can be minimal if you choose fish that's healthy.

I personally wouldn't rely on an automatic feeder. Disasters can happen with them like any mechanical device.

Most of your adult fish can go a week or two with out having food added to the tank. Plus, no or little food added will keep your water parameters safer for longer. Not saying you want to do this all the time, but before I relied on an auto feeder or someone I didn't really trust, I'd just assume let it go a week or 10days.

You gotta have look at F14 first, it's much better fail safe design.
