hardness

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
epsom salt is cheap. Experiment in a 5 gal bucket to determine how much you need to add to reach your desired hardness.

how can you raiuse your hardness of your water.

Seeing you're from Washington, I assume you live westside. The Water E of the cascades or in the cascade glacial runoff is really hard. I moved from Westside and even city water here is off the charts in hardness. So drive to Eastside and haul water, your fish will love you, but change it slow. I'm on a well, the ph runs 8.8, city waters run below 7.5 city of Chelan has the best water for an aquarium yet, And a great place to weekend and party !!

I have to mix my well water, city water and reverse osmosis. The ppm are so high that it will not accept chemical alteration without adding r/o water to give it some room.

My fish gets a treat when I go westside I bring that water for a partial, but mixing the 2 seems ideal.

Where are U located?

Haha hey meiling another in this area!

I like the epson salt method, and the crushed coral.

Yeah, wonders never cease! You can't prefer the epsom salt or coral method unless you've tested the drive eastside method. My aro can vouch, I'll go get him.
