Hardware store sand.

Hello everyone,
I'm setting up another tank either a 60G or 80G outta boredom. My question is I want to use black sand in it and really enjoy my $8 100LBS of sand from Lowes, however its not black. I would like to know if there is any black sand from like Lowes or Homedepot that I can use in a tank that will be safe and cheap since I want to put about 150LBS into whatever tank I choose.

Do you just use play sand?? Whats difference between that and pool filter sand?? I want black sand also but

theres a lfs down here in san diego that sells black sand. i dont know what its called but its a couple cents more per pound than regular river sand. might be too long of a drive for you though. im sure if you check with your local lfs's you could probly find one with sand. maybe in LA as well.
