Harlequin Bass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Native to south Florida and other parts of the Caribbean. Grow to 3-4", tend to stay near the bottom and near cover, and can be shy at first. Will eat small shrimp and crustaceans. Hearty eaters once they are established.

Hmm, maybe. Is this your first try at saltwater?

harlis aren't the same as chalk or tobbacco basses are they?

Nope. All three are different fishes, although they have similar care requirements.

yeah i meant like the same 'kind' i guess whatever i worded it wrong. :P :D

yeah they are all pretty easy to care for/laid back fish. good choice for a smaller reef tank

I have had good luck with all three of those fish. Harle bass are sweet looking but IMO the chalk bass is a knock out. . . in person w/ good lighting. Pictures never do those guys justice. Oh and do keep in mind if kept in reef aquaria any of those 3 will eat shrimp.
