What the lady at my lfs said was I can raise a starfish and use a razor and cut a little piece off the starfish to feed the shrimp. Don't really like the idea of that lol. I am going to research some more to see if I can feed them something else.

they pretty much will only eat starfish. A lot of people like them for getting rid of asterina.

Regardless, your going to have to be willing to feed it a starfish of some sort.

I think urchins too... Can your lfs get asterina stars? If so they tend to be cheap and you can feed it that... however if it were up to me i'd pick something else

You cannot feed them anything other than starfish, and there are certain kinds that they like more than others.

Some claim to have kept them alive on a couple asterina a week. This is baloney. More commonly you see people who are feeding a leg or so a week.

I believe so.. i think its the tube feet they go for

They prefer chocolate chips, linkia, sand sifters, and fromia stars from what I have read with choc chips being preferred if you are going to be cutting off an arm to feed since they are easy to maintain. Brittles and serpents aren't always accepted by them either.
