These two cichlids are the only two in my monster loach tank. I am wondering what to do. I would like to see what the fry look like, but I suspect the loaches, who are expert egg eaters, will decimate them. Should I section off the tank, move the pot with the eggs, or just forget it? I don't have another tank to move the cichlids right now.

Pull those babies and hatch em in a ten or something. That is what I had to do with my wild cons (they seem to eat all but 2 or 3 every time). Or you could just use a rubber-made/tank water/and air-stone. Good luck wurm!

Well, I decided to go natural. I now have HUNDREDS of wigglers. There are a few eggs left with fungus. Should I remove them, or forget it and leave the nest alone? There are seriously a pot full of fry, and I have no idea what to do with them.

According to Elvis, that would be a flowerhorn, congrats

Does that mean that any cichlids that cross are Flowerhorns? LOL

We'll see if any come to fruition so we know what these little monstrosities look like.

Ask Elvis, he is in the midst of pm'ing me to death.

He is very angry.

All hybrids are flowerhorns according to him:headbang2

no, it is a hybrid cross, a flowerhorn is many crosses looking for a particular trait, color or big head.

That depends on who you ask. There are many truths and myths regarding hybrids. Most Flowerhorns I have seen have some link to Trimacs, but other than that I can't tell you what else.

In your opinion would a carpinte/cyanoguttatus (regular texas) be a flowerhorn or just a mutt Texas cichlid?

Curious for your input
