Hartwegi and Trimac in a 90 Gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You can never be sure of these things :)

If you have a plan b such as a spare tank etc. i say go for it

Yeah it's a male. I'm thinking that it wont work. A guy at work has a very nice heartwegi that I could probably get for like $10 or so, which made me kind of curious.

I don't think it would work because it is the trimacs tank, the other way it might work, but you are playing with fire. imo lol A Trimac is a pretty tough customer.

I don't think so, but you never know.

My largest male trimac has a female Texas in a 180 with him. I put her in there when she was much smaller than him. He used to chase her, but I set up a cave she could hide in. Now they get along real well, I even think they may eventually breed. This same Trimac killed his mate and would not tolerate any other fish even Silver Dollars.

Good luck.

Most likely not.but anything is possible

The key thing is I never put 2 aggressive fish together in 1 on 1 situations. Do some redecorating as to break up an established territory add 2 new fish & it might work. I saw a 150 gal. tank 2 weeks ago as I was moving my son's gpop into his new apartment; that contained a 10 or so in male cintrinellum with 2 5-6 in. dempseys, & 4 7-12 in.goldfish with no aggression problems. I'll take picts. next time I go up there. Fish are individuals & if you have an extra tank to move somebody to if it doesn't work then go for it.
