Has another pet ever eaten your fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Funny enough, I heard of a story where a guy had a large snakehead and woke up to a loud racket one night. Came out and the fish was chasing his kitten around. The guy had to throw a pot over the fish to scoop it back into the tank.

Not yet. But if my savannah cat got his way and figured out how to bypass my lids then it would be carnage.

My first wife's sister's siamese ate my first baby arowana from my first tank while we were pet sitting.

It was probably lucky for the aro. I only had a 10g tank.

Cat knocked a 110v light fixture into the tank too, in its getaway, and splashed all over. I got a flashlight, went to the fusebox (1920's farmhouse) and cut the power before trying to rescue him from the floor; but the cat got away with him in the dark.

Years later I had our Rusty cat bring home a 6" trout and leave it on the doormat. In truth, it had been raining, but we lived in the city! Didn't get a photo of the trout, but he was a real mouser.

I’ve often heard cats bringing pray back and leaving it on the carpet / floor is the equivalent of them giving you a gift...

Five years back or so I had a goldfish in a 10gal with no lid. My cat Squeaks at first just drank its water... then discovered the fish.... I probably replaced that goldfish 15 times before I gave up and just told my son that Squeaks ate it. IMG00010.jpg
She also was very successful mouser. Over three years she left 39 dead mouse gifts.
