LED lighting is a very practical developing technology...

But do you think lighting is really what is causing your electrical bill to be too high?…

My 3’ fluorescent bulbs use 30W… theirs uses 11W...

Their 11W light may give off more light than my 30W, but my 30W is plenty for my 3’ tank…

I’ve been told for keeping plants, these elevated claims of high wattage do not equally compare to the wattage of a standard fluorescent bulbs…

From what I see, the LED lights do use a little less electricity… and might save you a little bit… but the manufacturer’s claims are a bunch of nonsense based on exaggerated assumptions…

If you want to reduce your electrical bill I believe there are more effective places to look besides aquarium lighting...

Thanks. When you have a 125, 55, 30, and 10 gal, running 3 eheim 2217, 1 2215, 3 aqueon 55's and 1 20 hob, a bunch of air pumps, and powerheads all running 24/7 it uses alot of energy. I have only been leaving the lights on for an hour or 2 lately to save on my bill. I just thought that using these led lights I could give my fish better lighting, and can leave my lights on twice as long. I'm not looking for some way to miraculously lower my bill, but if I can pay the same price, or a bit lower on my bill, and make my fish happier, I say it's a win/win situation. I'm just wary about buying these because there practically the same price, if not cheaper than regular florescents. I admit though that my aquarium consumption probably make's up less than half of my bill, and I really have to cut back on alot of other things if I want to lower my bill.

I called solarban (ithink) last year and now im having 3 mini windmills installed on top of my house. The little ones you find one ebay but the odd thing is they need wind to work, lmao... the solar works really good cuz i have it on 1/2 my room and i have a big house. the wind ones need a mini of wind passing by to even work just right... down fall but i found days where they spin like crazy
