I'm going on vacation in a couple of months to asia. I was just wondering what is needed to bring them to the states. If they have some cool fish over there, I might buy it. Dealing with Customs, fish and game, the airline, etc.

There are designated ports of entry so if you try to come back through the 'wrong' port, it won't work. (There aren't that many.) There are forms to fill out, so I'd get those in advance. Also, of course, some species will not be allowed.

This is over and above whether or not the Asian country or countries will let you export it or land with it, what they may require in order to take it and whether or not the airlines will let you carry it.

This is 'personal use' type stuff. You will want something else if it does not look like personal use.

You need permits from USFW to import live animals into the US. You might need CITES paper work as well.
Depending on where you are coming from, you might need export papers from that country. Either way, be prepared to take extra time for inspections and what not along the way.
