Hey Guys

This is more out of curiousity

Has anyone built a large tank out of breeze blocks before?

I've breefly read about people building ponds out of Breeze Blocks and just thought it might be possible to build a large tank from them.

I'm sure there must be sealants you can treat the breeze Blocks with to make them water tight, you could probably heavily Epoxy it to.

I just though this may be easier than trying to create a conctrete tank

What do you think?

Im thinking of this idea myself, coz i think it might have a longer life than a plywood tank.

Ive looked at the g1 range of pond paints and sealants.maybe these can be used on breeze block.

I dont know how suitable breeze blocks are, coz ive had a few sitting in the garden over winter and they just soak up water and cracked when its frosty.

I hope someone can let us know, its the road i want to go down.

I was going to try and build one this summer. I have a 1500 gallon wooden tank that I built but the termites have started to make a home in it (they are everywhere here). I was going to build a new one out of cinder block and, of course, triple the size. I'm still working on the plans but I'll post them when I'm done.
