I have glass cutter but don't know if it'll work for long/thick glasses.
I've used it on jealousy's and it works like a champ.

Do you think that it'll cut crooked or crack if I try it.

I have a 4 ft long by 4 ft wide that I want to cut in half.
It's about 1/2 an inch thick...

Just wondering if anyone that did a diy fish tank cut their own glass.

Thanks,
Or as we say it in hawaii.
Mahalo.

I would say there is a 80% chance that the cut will come out crooked or go way off the scribe.

Thicker glass is harder to break straight.

Those little roller scribes work pretty good up to about 1/4'' glass. And even then you will not get every piece straight.

yea I used to be a window installer, and when we had to just replace a single pane of glass it was a pain. We would cut to size out of sheets and it took me awhile to get it right. If you have not done it a bunch of times I would just bring it to a glass shop to have it cut.

yeah a cutting fee can't be that expensive. I've cut small pieces of glass with success but large ones I always bring in if I cut a 12" piece wrong it's not that big of a deal, but a 4' piece I might be quite sad when i did it wrong lol.
