Bought a tank, put it where you wanted it? Decided that it wasn't enough of a centrepiece and so moved all your rooms around so the tank stands out more??:D I put my new tank in the dining room a few days ago. Am slowly setting it up and decided that my chairs and table were in the way, so swapped my dining room with my sunroom, moved chairs and table out and swapped with a couch and coffee table so now when I am sitting in the lounge I can see the tank (all three of them actually) So has anyone else done this?? Oh and hubby wasn't real impressed when he came home...............:grinno:

Not quite the same as you but i did design my flat with my 200G in mind so that it would be the main show piece... does that count???

The main specification for buying our house was that the 1st floor could hold 200+ gallon tanks. As far as moving mine I think my friends would take me out back and shot me for ever suggesting it.

We got rid of the bed in the spare bedroom to make room for the 240. Now guests sleep on the couches

All of my tanks are in the basement currently but once I decide which room on the main floor would look best with a tank, I'll bring one up.

Hey wait a minute, have you been over to my house? I just did that!

I just moved my 120g... again

Wait let me start for the beginning... I first moved my 60g tank over 8' into the corner of the dining room to make room for the new 120g. Then we sold off the 60g and realized that where the 120g was put just did not look right - it was just too big for the location. It looked fine when it was the 60g there but the new tank just did not work there. But sliding it down 8' into our living room worked perfectly.

So the old saying: "Measure twice, cut once" comes to mind. Use some masking tape on the floors and walls and lay out how much room your tank will take up BEFORE you start moving and filling it up!

i moved my moms dinning room table out of the way to place my 125 gal lol.

haha! Excellent! Glad I'm not the only one!

after a couple of water spills, we re-did the 3rd bedroom (i.e., fish room) in our house, removing the carpet and putting down a stamped-concrete floor (looks like Mexican tile, but costs quite a bit less) . . .

this did require moving three fish tanks into the the living room for a week, but it was well worth it
