**** has gone really bad and im kinda left with no choice... just curious if anybody has any input or advice....

why what happen??? you know its a big hassle. trust me, my parents filed bankruptcy and it wasnt pretty. we are still suffering about the whole issue and that was like 3-4 years ago. think twice and wisely nic. we dont want you to go if your running thru trouble. i support you and i hope everything goes well.

my old man went thru it 4-5 years a go, i was there every minute of it, i know plenty of info about it, so i can help out with details....

ive thought long and hard about this... i have some people to make appointment with first to discuss the matter... i dont wanna do this believe me i expect nothing but hell if i do for many years...

My brother went through it 5 or 6 years ago and it was the best thing he ever did. But his problem was due to overspending and not due to any hardship so that may be why. Unfortunately I don't know the details of what he had to go through.

It will offer you a clean slate. Credit will be down and it will show for 7 years, then its gone. Most people have dents in their credit, so once you have a clean slate. things will gradually get better and your credit will go back up. If your in too deep, its a way to go. Just make sure that you aren't trying to buy a house in the next few years, cuz then it won't be good. If you aren't, then things will be a whole lot better. You can even keep your car thru the bankruptcy. Just talk to a lawyer, and they can get you thru it. If you don't know a lawyer, contact the bar association, and they can find you one that you can afford. If your wondering how I know about this, well, lets just say I work for the courts during the day.......... Good luck!

Mom went through it when my dad stoped paying the mortgage and took all the saved money and left us. Forclosure and filed for bankruptcy. She worked up her credit throught her dads credit card, then got a car loan for a used car at 21%, got a new car at 11%, bought a house at 13%, refinanced for 6%. This is all over the coarse of 5 years, she bought our house after only 3years. When she was filing for bankruptcy her accountant had her stop depositing 90% of all the money from her buisness for the 2 months so our life was really ow for those couple months but we bounced back!

Talk to a lawyer Nick, before you take any action.

There is nothing wrong with bankrupcy if it is not due to "fraudulent " reasons, meaning, if the situation was not maliciously created by you to avoid any financial commitments you have.

Talk with the people who know, don't waste your energy and nerves by hearing opinions here and there.

I am sure that in the courthouse or bar association you will get the name of firms who have an adequate pro-bono department if you are unable to pay the lawyers bills.

:iagree:
I Personally claimed when I was 20 or 21 so that was almost 10 years ago and I know that many laws have changed since then. Most of them changed to make it harder for people to claim. So I don't think my experiences are relevant on the subject.
