So I have a fish that keeps eating my albino plecos. Every other week I buy a pleco 2-3" biggest plecos I find and within a week this fish eats them. He wont eat any other fish or pleco just the albino plecos. I have other bn plecos but they dont go missing like the albinos do.
Has anyone ever had a racist fish?

Might be picking them off because they are albino and its hard for a albinos to hide from predators. That's why they are so hard to find in the wild.

It hides when the lights are on and small, its getting annoying because the top water fish keeps eating them. I have gone to several lfs but none of them carry albino plecos over 3" and the one time a+ had 1 it was being held for someone
I agree that being albino makes them more noticeable and therefore easier to find and eat. It's not racist lol just selective

Racist lol...agreed it just has everything to do with sight, ive had several fish specifically target albinos due to the fact they stick out like a sore thumb in a dark tank. My tsn and softshell turtle absolutly go crazy for albino fish. Learned that the hard way with some albino channels. The turtle is especially "racist" and pursued 3 18" albino channels in my pond until i had to remove them minuges later. Their are 8 large tsn with ghe turtle and he could care less about them. My guess is he cant really see them.

My jardini doesn't like Oscars, I was in my LFS the other day and all the black Oscars were on one side of the tank and all the albino's on the other.
