A Dubois Cichlid???I saw one at my local LFS,the clerk told me they get really large. It was quite small, the colors were blue with white spots. It was in a tank with some Blind Cave fish and other assorted fish.I couldnt find anything on the inter net about this fish.I'm not even sure it is a cichlid because the clerk seemed a little dopey:nilly: ,I am interested in this fish, but would like to know as much about it as possible.Any help is really appreciated!!!Pics would be great too!!Thanks!!!:naughty:

Look under Tropheus duboisi. It's an african (Lake Tanganyika) cichlid. They don't get that big. 4-5" is max on these fish.

That's what I would think too. They grow out of their spots.

half of the people who work in pet stores are there just for the pay check. I can't tell you how many countless times I've known more then an employee some times to my favor when paying for fish I knew should cost more. I once had a guy tell me that jewels were C.A. cichlids not african. so the person may have just went on the fact oscars, jags., & many other common cichlids get at least 10 inches. not meaning to lie just not informed.

I agree with crock 2-3, there are soooooo many pet store clerks who realy know nothing about what they are selling. But then did you realy think they had people who were experts on not only fish but dogs, cats, birds, rodents, reptiles, etc etc etc (every thing else that they sell) working for minimum wage? No I dont think so. If however you go to a place that specializes in just fish and speak with one of the senior staff you will probably learn something, otherwise just do your own research before going into joe blows discount pet store.
