I know they might bring in parasites to your tank...but what if you are starting up a new tank and the fish from the supermarket is the first fish you put in? I saw some freshwater stonefish there for only $5.99/lb. There were lots of other fish I couldn't ID...but surely some of them have to be interesting fish worth keeping? :screwy:

Must be nice to be able to buy live fish to eat at the market. I get some dead fish on ice.

Lots of live fish are sold in markets for us to cook and eat. In my area, they are sold in supermarkets, most particularly groupers, tilapia and channel catfish. If you have space to accommodate anything that are monster-sized, why not? No reason why you cannot keep them if they fascinate you and you at least have the proper space for them.

Any pics of other fish? I'd be interested to see what other fish your stores sell there!

Depending on where you live, most supermarkets that sell live fish must kill the fish per health codes etc. before letting it go home with the costumer.....

Well I guess if you really like it, you can "Drop" 20 when your picking the fish :naughty:
