has anyone ever tried lighting from underneath

LOL...yeah try not to draw attention to the nastiness of undergravel...

I did try it once, I didnt like it, seem to do something to the Oscars...They would stair at the bottom, Towards the light for hours, even after it was off...lol

That's one of the things I was worried about. The fish would think they were upsidedown or somrthing. lol

I have 5 tiers of tanks in my fishroom and several hundred tanks so lighting costs and hardware costs need to be economised. I run bare bottom tanks and cut out the polystyrene bases so the rooms ceiling light can shine all the way down to the bottom tier. Fish dont seem to suffer from depth perception and realise the fish they see below/above cant be reached.
