Has anyone ever tried this wet/dry????

just make sure it is not touching the sides and has good flow round it and it should be fine ;)
 
One or two people on here made them.

Suspend the heater off of the plastic and you'll be fine.

People put heaters in acrylic W/D's all the time. If your worried that the other plastic is too soft, just put a piece of acrylic under the heater.
 
I am using something very similar except I am using a 5 drawer unit and just took out the bottom drawer to sit in my sump, leaves more options for filter media.
 
I use 2 - 3 drawer units and assembled them to make 1 unit, cut the bottom in front to make room for my heaters, an made an opening in the back of the last drawer to force the water current to flow from the back of the bio-tower to force the water through the heaters. Since this picture, I moved down 1 tray of scrubbies and put in the second drawer more mecanical filtration.

ive been using plastic homemade w/d's for months now. 1 i have been using for almost a year with no problems at all what so ever. not that one specifically. but very similiar in design. and my heaters are in the bin/sump just sitting there lol
