THANKS!
I burned through a cheap Ryobi sander and bought a Ridgid. I finally hit acrylic, but still alot of haze around the bottom.
I'm pretty certain this is still calcification because the stain pattern is still faintly visible and the milky white debrie when I've tried to go to polish.
im super worried about getting chemicals in the tank, so im sticking with sanding inside with 2500 grit and vinegar.
ill get some pics up in the morning when the lights good.
right now im hittn the ben-***
Yes, ive gone through all grits between 400 to 4000 5 times now. I removed all the scratches but the residue keeps coming and it still very hazey at the bottom 1/2 of the tank all around.are you only sanding with 2500 grit? i suggest you start with 600/800 as its easier to
sand off the calcification with the coarser grit and work your way up to 2500/3000+
then buff & polish. also vinegar isnt necessary if your sanding, buffing and polishing
the tank.

im so sore from hanging upside down in there and think i busted a capillary.
I began trying to polish, but it wasnt working so im back on 1000 grit again.
I've buffed tanks before and it was never like this
yes both sides. i am going at it now with the new Ridgid sander and can already see improvement. i know I hit acrylic, but do i keep sanding till i dont see anymore water stains?
