has anyone ever got bitten by their piranhas before?

Not yet! I have had mine since they were about 2 cms big, they are now near the 8 inch mark, despite being able to put my hands in their tank, it is exactly that, their tank, it takes one wrong move from you and they will defend themselves and probably bite.

my best friend had his index finger bitten. it took the tip clean off except it was held on by the fingernail. it was bleeding bad! took 13 stitches and looked horrible not much to sew it to. the hospital called the long beach aquarium to ask about disease since they had never dealt with a pirahna bite. an eventful day that was. these were typical naterii. red belly

oo that sounds like a nasty bite bet that scar is a good conversation starter lol

when i first got mine they were about the size of a nickel, and i wanted to see if they could actually bite, and i let one get me. instead of nibbling, one grabbed hold and shook a little. he pulled a small piece of skin off and after i decided they have some serious jaw/teeth, so i make sure no one is going to get me. at roughly 7 inches ive seen them bite clear through a herring spine with no problems. hopefully i never get to see what they can actually do

I think i will be on the "Look what my Rhom did to my hand" thread soon. Trying to get him to be hand fed haha. i will take some pics for you Eddie.
