has anyone had an dealings with "marine sources" brand skimmers? they seem a good build quality for the money.

I have no experience with it but it "looks" good and the description appears of it makes it sound good. Proof is in the pudding however.
I no longer do reef tanks,but finding a good protein skimmer was always tough for me, non usually worked great some much better than others but I was never in awe by any.

well i'll post some results when i set it up.
i thought for that price if the if the hailea pump is up to sh*t i'd put a better one on there and still be saving

Good for the price definately, looks almost identical to my Reef Octopus. I reckon give it a go, like you said can always change the pump if it's crap.
