The fresh green pea is expensive and also requires a lot of work E.g boiling and peeling . I found a shop that sells canned green pea, please see picture. It is cheap and the only problem I can see is the salt, so I removed its water from can and put the cream peas in a bowl and washed it with fresh clean water multiple times, I assume that the salt would be gone by now, but I don’t have experience if the salt trace remains int he green peas. I have not yet give my plecos this canned green pea, I am waiting for your help to share your experience if you have ever fed your plecos and BNs from canned green pea?

appreciate your help!

I have years ago when I had a common pleco with a pair of Oscars.....they all loved the peas.I never have the sodium content a thought back then.

I fed green beans to ancistrus for years before I let them all go. I alway used canned low sodium or no added salt beans. I found that these, along with some blood worms, were great spawning triggers.

You can buy no salt added canned peas

They should be fine. I regularly feed canned garbanzos and have done for a long time. Mines are unsalted but it does not matter. They are a treat for silver dollars once a week, but everybody eats them then.
