Has anyone used biosticks?

Picked up 24 of these bio sticks today. Wondering if anyone has ever used them and what you think of them? Planning to swap these out with some of my bioballs and pot scrubbers in the sump. They are very porous but I'm not sure what the material is? Seems too light to be ceramic

I used them. And it work very well for me.

It brought a doz of these about 2 yrs ago and it's in my sump since. I used it to hold my egg creates instead of cut PVCs which adds more bio media. I noticed that over time they worn down a little or gets very rounded where the edges are. Still works but little worn out.

I really like them, I have 6 of them in my sump and like 5 bags of ceramic rings. I want to eventually get more of those bio sticks and take out all of my bio balls
