I'm going to be setting up a 150 gallon mixed reef tank in the near future and at the moment I'm putting together the stand, but I'll need to plumb it in the near future. I bought an undrilled 150 gallon glass tank from a fellow MFK and I'm curious if using the DIY overflows like he did in the past would work for a reeftank? or do I need to figure something else out like either drilling the tank or some other type of overflow?

If you are willing to drill the tank, look into the Herbie standpipe. You'll be glad you did.

They should, but you might want to look into a CPR...they make an nice, high quality overflow that I am about to use on my 125g reef.

Otherwise you can check the link to my 125g build project in my sig, and on page four or something people are talking about the DIY overflow, there is a video...and I think some links to other pages on the site that talk about it more in detail.
