Has anyone used the marbled crayfish to feed some of their bichirs? I haven't got any bichirs yet but I want to be able to provide a varied diet and this could be an easy feeder to culture for them and all I need is one! If anyone uses these animals please post so I can decide if they are worth the money to buy them!

They work great!!I have about 200 young at a time and three different parent. The young start to eat each other after an inch or so in size so that is when i feed them.I feed them to my tarpon,bass,dats,polys,snook,etc..

That's what I thought! Something live, different, and easy to care and breed! I just need to know what kind of setup I'm gonna put them in! I want to culture a lot of my foods but I so I don't have to go to the lfs for live food! So I've got my culture of earthworms started, gonna order the marbled crayfish and start them off, now I just need to decide on a fish to culture! Thanks MsMassPoly for an experienced viewpoint!

I have a (somewhat unintentional) self cloner farm going. I bought a couple dozen locally and got 2 batches of young with zero work. Then I began feeding them live blackworms when I had leftovers. Population explosion! I take the pregnant ones out, put them in a small tank to drop the young then throw them back in the main tank. I now have 2 tanks FULL of babies and one holding pregos.
So easy and the my puffers love them.
BTW im selling some extras if you want any :)
