Yes I just visited a Hatchery and got some trout pellets. Its WAY cheaper than regular pellets. But I read a thread about this and its high in protein but VERY high in fat. We all know that cichlids cant handle high lipids for a long period of time. So I have about 5 ounce net weight of trout feed. I'm crushing them smaller for my smaller frys and fishes as a supplement. The high fat however makes the trout grow 3 times faster than naturally says the state ranger. They had feeder vending machines there for 25 cents half oz.

Is there a question in there, or are you just sharing this with us?

Is this a questionare site or are we all just rambling on?
Hey that was a question, okay thats my question, lol

those pellets arent really the greatest things in the world, the reason for the high fat % is the way they make it, once they harvest the fish, filleted and all they grind all the waste (bones and fat and the rest of the fish anatomy) up and mix it in with the other additives to form the pellet, this leads to the proses of bio-magnification in the fish, like higher mercury levels because mercury is stored in fish fat anyways i forget what im trying to say here other than those pellets are bad and its one of the reasons i only eat wild caught fish

Yuck I don't want to eat wild caught fish anymore neither, no well, okay if I ever feel like eating an artery clogging double patty burger I'll eat a wild caught fish. Isn't the water and air we take in killing us too? OMG
