I am hatching brine shrimp as our freshman experimental desgin project. I am doing it right now, so the quicker responses the better. I want to know the times for hatching at 20C 24C 28C 32C 36C 40C. Just estimates from people are fine because im checking it every hour. I am going to use a little over 1 liter of water with 1/2 tsp of epsom salt and 1/2 tsp baking soda. I am using ro water that has been sitting for weeks. I don't have access to rock salt. Will the mixture work? Thanks for all your help in advance.

its already setup so i have ro, and i have to document everything so i can't just cheat, please can someone tell me if the salt will work

I'm not certain, but I don't think the Epsom salt (magnesium sulphate)/baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) mix will work. The 'main' ingredient of Aquarium salt (I and many others use this for hatching brine shrimp) is sodium chloride. Plain old table salt would probably work although most people will say that the additives (anti-caking agents, iodide etc) make it no good for this purpose, Kosher salt can definitely be used.
I hatch brine shrimp in 2 litres of water with 2 tbsp's of Aquarium salt, if you were to use kosher salt or table salt the amount would be less because of the smaller grain size - I would guess around half the quantity.
I keep the water around 80 - 82F (27C approx) and find I can harvest around 70% of the brine shrimp after 15 -18 hours.
Hope this helps.
