my silver loves tetra color tropical granules (been feeding that to him since he had lost egg sac), but hates hikari carnivore, he grabs it but then spits it out. even at 9" when I feed my discus tetra color he will swallow the whole spoon of tetra color. what are some ways to get him on carnivore, besides starving him, I feel so bad about starving him

Still a little small to be starving for long. Plus how would you starve, unless you move separate the aro and discus.
I would crush up the hikari and add some in with the tetra bits. Over a weeks time gradually decrease the amount of tetra bits and increase the hikari. May do the trick.
